Project Description

The exterior façades of the Manors at the Crest showcase a carefully curated palette of materials that blend local heritage with modern construction. Prominently featured on the corner elevations and select portions of the south and east façades is locally quarried and precision-cut Indiana Limestone, sourced from Accent Limestone in nearby Spencer, Indiana. This iconic natural stone not only grounds the building in regional identity but also adds texture, warmth, and timeless elegance to the architectural composition.

Complementing the limestone veneer is a thoughtful mix of brick masonry, fiber cement panels, concrete, and steel elements—each contributing its own aesthetic and functional qualities. The brick adds depth and traditional character, while the fiber cement panels provide clean lines and weather resistance. Concrete surfaces lend a modern, monolithic presence, and exposed steel accents introduce an industrial edge, reinforcing structural integrity and architectural detail.

This layered material strategy creates a dynamic and cohesive façade that responds to both context and contemporary design values. It celebrates craftsmanship, durability, and regional resources while supporting the building’s visual interest and long-term performance.

Comprised of a combination of single bedroom and multi-bedroom apartments, this structure is well equipped for students or the working professionals that wish to live in the downtown area but still maintain distance from the traffic.  The Manors at the Crest apartments also contain Type A and Type B dwelling units which are situated on the ground floors allowing adaptability for accessible tenants offering lowered counter heights, current or future grab bar adaptability and spacious living and kitchen areas.
